2015 was the first year that I started taking photos. I was lucky enough to get into the Warped Tour that year and take some photographs, and they turned out to be some of my favorites of the year. Now fast forward to the summer of 2016, I have now been taking photos for a little over a year and I was lucky enough to photograph two dates of Warped Tour, in Seattle and in Portland. The following photos ensued:

Devin (Ghost) Sola // Motionless In White (Portland, OR, 2016)

Devin (Ghost) Sola // Motionless In White (Portland, OR, 2016)

Since I was shooting two days of Warped Tour this time around, I was able to prioritize which bands I wanted to shoot which days, and thus was able to take photos of more bands than I did last year. Unfortunately, due to some SD card issues, a good chunk of the photos from the first day were lost and I didn't notice until after it was all said and done; but luckily this photo remained. Here we have Devin Sola (Ghost) of Motionless in White. I love this photo because it really showcases the stage presence that Ghost has become known for, as well as his trademark makeup & costumes. He is a very tactful and slow mover, which normally would be boring to watch, but the way that Ghost does it fits so well, the movement combined with his look gives off the creepiest vibe and I just love every bit of it! Another reason I enjoy this photo is that I was able to showcase the band's name in the background which can sometimes be tough to do.

Brandon Hoover // Crown the Empire (Seattle, WA, 2016)

Brandon Hoover // Crown the Empire (Seattle, WA, 2016)

This photo would quickly become one of my most popular on my social medias after I initially posted it. It's always awesome when you capture the ever so elusive "jump-shots", but its even more rare (for me at least) that photo is so crisp and in focus.

Ice Nine Kills is a band that has always been so good to me. They were on the bill for a tour I was on last spring with Light Up The Sky, and after I photographed a couple of their sets we quickly became acquainted. They helped me get into Warped this time around and they're always such great performers that taking photos of them comes so naturally. Spencer Charnas was in rare form during the two Warped dates that I witnessed, performing like a totally rejuvenated frontman.

Tyler Carter (Vocals) & Sky Acord (bass) // ISSUES (Portland, OR, 2016)

Here we have two of my favorite people Tyler & Sky of Issues. Issues and I have a friendship that stems a little over two years now, and I always photograph them when I have the chance. They're such great dudes and always a challenge to photograph. Every show is a brand new experience with them. You never know what you're going to get, but you know it's going to be good.

Jacob Maughan // More to Monroe (Seattle, WA, 2016)

Jacob Maughan // More to Monroe (Seattle, WA, 2016)

More to Monroe is an up and coming Post-Hardcore band from Maryland that a friend of mine happened to be running merch for on Warped Tour. They were also very very helpful in my efforts to getting access to shoot the festival this year. Their stage presence was insane, they were bouncing all over the place and were so energetic, it was really quite a challenge to get some focused images of them. Luckily I was able to grab a few. Thanks for the help guys!

Jordan Pudnik // New Found Glory (Seattle, WA, 2016)

Jordan Pudnik // New Found Glory (Seattle, WA, 2016)

New Found Glory is one of my favorite Pop Punk bands of all time, I was so grateful to have finally gotten the chance to see them perform live and even more fortunate that I could take photos of them. My favorite part about their performance is just how much fun they look to be having while they're up there. It's all posi-jumps, tongues out, and smiles on their faces throughout their entire performance.

Waka Flocka Flame // (Portland, OR, 2016)

Waka Flocka Flame // (Portland, OR, 2016)

Waka Flocka played at a few limited dates of Warped Tour this year, and I was beyond excited to learn that he would be performing at both of the dates that I was shooting. Waka is a turn up god. The crowd probably wasn't his usual group of attendees but he got them moving and crowd surfing just like the rest of the bands on the tour.

Malia Endres // Glacier Veins (Portland, OR, 2016)

Malia Endres // Glacier Veins (Portland, OR, 2016)

Glacier Veins was one of the two local bands that was to play the Portland date of Warped Tour this year. I only discovered them a couple days before the event but they were by far the band I was most excited to take photos of out of the entire Portland date. They're a calming little "dream-punk" band similar to bands like Balance & Composure. I would highly recommend giving them a listen!

Paul Anderson // Divides (Portland, OR, 2016)

Paul Anderson // Divides (Portland, OR, 2016)

Divides was the other local band to play the Portland date of Warped. I have known these dudes for a while now and I was so glad I was able to capture this moment of hometown fans and first time listeners coming together with Paul towards the end of their set. Divides definitely won over some new fans with their performance.

Masato Hayakawa // ColdRain (Portland, OR 2016)

Masato Hayakawa // ColdRain (Portland, OR 2016)

My good friend Savannah was running the merch tent for the dudes in ColdRain over the summer and raved about them, so naturally, I had to go check them out. They were so much fun to listen to and to watch. They combine classic breakdowns with awesome choruses that are reminiscent of anime theme songs which just made them so so catchy.

Derek Sanders // Mayday Parade (Seattle, WA, 2016)

Derek Sanders // Mayday Parade (Seattle, WA, 2016)

The final photo I'll throw in here is one of my favorite singers and performers out there, Derek of Mayday Parade. Derek puts so much emotion into his incredible performances and it's always a treat to photograph. I got a very similar photo to this one last winter when Mayday Parade came through Portland on the AP Tour and I was really hoping that I would be able to capture another one in the daylight so that you could really see the happiness and pure joy on Derek's face when he performs.
